Green Meetings and Events with Trees Ontario

Trees Ontario offers the official “Green Event” or “Green Meeting”` designation, and has a system in place to calculate the environmental impact of a specific meeting or event – its “Environmental Footprint”. Trees Ontario obtains certain required information from the meeting planner about the meeting or event (IE. the number of attendees, their points of origin, and their mode of transport, plus the length of the meeting, etc.), and then they can calculate the number of trees that would need to be planted in order to off-set the environmental footprint of that meeting or event. The event planner is then charged a fee of $3.00 per tree planted on their behalf.

Trees Ontario provides the event planner with their official “Green Event” or “Green Meeting” logo as a ‘seal of approval’ for use in all of the event’s marketing initiatives. Trees Ontario also includes any of its officially designated Green Meetings or Green Events on its website. - www.treesontario.on.ca
